Luma is a gorgeous 5Y old BC/Aussie mix that was relinquished by her owners as they did not have enough time for her. Luma is very intelligent and is taking to commands readily, including Sit, Stay, Place, Break, Touch, Off, and Okay. She has been very loving with both adults in the home, and has been safe and gentle around the 2 year toddler. She is treat/food/praise motivated, which makes her easy to train, and she does not seem to have a very high prey drive, as she's not been reactive to cats, bunnies, squirrels or even backyard chickens!

After just a week and half in the home, Luma has made significant improvements on leash, but she will need continued structure and redirection (as well as time and exposure) to help her ignore other dogs on walks. Luma is great meeting most people, but can get a little overstimulated (read: a bit barky) while meeting others (mostly men). However, she is easily redirectable and is not aggressive at all - just needs some treats from a stranger and she warms up fairly quickly.

Luma is currently living with another dog after being an only dog her whole life. So far, the pups are getting along well outside (in the yard and on walks), but Luma has can be a bit possessive of attention and certain resources, like food that's left out, against the other dog. No real escalation, but just some nipping. We do think Luma will acclimate to another dog in the home (and may potentially even benefit from it) with a slow intro and continued obedience training, but Luma would also be fine as an only dog that just plays with doggy friends outside.

Luma is a happy, loving pup that would love to have an experienced, adventure-loving home!
