At just 1 year old, Lucy may have grown into her long legs and big girl looks, but don’t let that fool you—she’s still a puppy at heart! This playful Border Collie girl is all about fun, whether she’s romping with her foster dog siblings, shadowing her humans, or figuring out how to play with her newest (and tiniest) step-sis—the 9-week-old kitten.
Lucy is play, play, play all day. True to her breed, she’s medium-to-high energy—after a good five-mile run, she’ll happily crash for a well-earned snooze on the floor and be content. She’s incredibly smart and eager to learn, already showing off “sit,” “down,” “speak,” and “stay.” She’s also crate trained, has fantastic recall, and is SUPER FOOD MOTIVATED!!!! (training her is as fun as it is rewarding). Like any teenager, she’s still working on her manners—counter surfing and dumpster diving are her sneaky guilty pleasures if no one’s watching. Also like any teenager, she likes to "talk" back..lol
Lucy’s herding instinct is strong. While other dogs chase the ball, she’s happiest rounding up the players instead of fetching herself. Give her a job and something to chew on (trust us, shoes don’t count!), and she’ll thrive.
Lucy would be the perfect match for an active family who wants a bright, affectionate companion with a goofy, fun-loving personality. She’s sweet, loyal, and endlessly entertaining—once you meet her, you won’t be able to imagine life without her.
