Cedar was a part of a litter of 7 that had been abandoned with their mom (Violet) at just 2 weeks old in South Texas.
Cedar is such a sweet, incredibly smart, active, and eager to learn pup who is well adjusted and thrives on routine! He loves to play with other dogs, toys and chew on his bully stick. He is fully potty trained (and has been since he was 14 weeks old!) and is very well crate trained. He is an active little guy and would be a great candidate for an adopter that wants to do some search and rescue training or agility/dog sports - Cedar's incredible drive and nose actually helped his fosters find a rat's nest that they'd been trying to locate without success. He also is very quick at picking up training and tricks - and has all of his basic obedience down pat. He is great at walking on a leash and sleeps through the night - he knows when the nighttime routine is starting and starts to wind himself down along with the rest of the family! When Cedar gets out his puppy energy, he loves asking for belly rubs and pets from everyone in the family.
Fun facts about Cedar:
-
Super smart! Has mastered: Sit, Down, Shake, Spin, Fix it (when he gets tangled in a leash), Place, Crate, Off, Leave it (better outside than inside haha) and is quickly picking up: Heel and Middle
-
Great at learning threshold - will wait for a release before coming out of the crate and going out the front door
-
Very well kennel trained - perfect "off-switch" when in kennel and sleeps quietly through the night in it
-
Fully potty trained
-
Wants to work for food - loves frozen and enrichment/puzzle feeding and has an exceptional nose
-
Loves having his teeth brushed (think it's a treat!)
-
Approaches new situations with confidence (foster says he will literally launch himself when there's a toy involved)
-
Loves pets and will throw his body against you to ask for back and butt scratches, but is too puppy wiggly to settle down too much for full on cuddles right now
-
Likes to have his bully sticks held for him when he chews
