Barley was rescued from an 80+ dog breeder hoarding situation in North Texas.

Meet Barley – Your New Best Friend in the Making!

​

Barley is a sweet, gentle soul with striking blue eyes and a heart full of love. Whether he’s lounging on the couch or soaking up the sunshine in the yard, Barley is happy just being near his people (or having some quiet solo time too!).

 

This goofy guy has recently discovered a deep passion for plastic plant pots – yes, you read that right! He can entertain himself for hours tossing them around with pure joy. Add a pile of toys into the mix and you’ll quickly learn: Barley is convinced there’s no such thing as “too many.” He’s also a pro at stealing dryer balls when you’re not looking – his version of treasure hunting!

 

Barley is a true cuddle-bug who may just claim your entire bed and transform into a snuggly, unmovable object. While he enjoys his walks and strolls on trails, he sometimes needs a bit of encouragement to get started. He’s working through some leash hesitations, but he’s making great progress every day.

 

Barley is wonderful with both people and other dogs. He doesn’t jump up to greet, but he makes his excitement known in the sweetest ways. He’s also got a soft spot for his feline siblings – he tries his best to win them over for playtime (they’re still not convinced, but he keeps the dream alive).

 

He’s not a digger, not an escape artist, and walks politely without pulling. Bath time and nail trims? No problem! Car rides aren’t his favorite yet, but once he’s in, he’s a calm and loyal copilot. Basic commands aren’t his strong suit (yet), but his charming personality is more than enough.

 

Another amazing thing about Barley is loud noises don’t bother him one bit – not even thunder! In fact, he’ll happily sit outside with you during a storm, enjoying the rain and sometimes even playing in it.

 

Barley is full of love, quirks, and joy – ready to bring endless laughter and loyalty to his forever home.
