Tucker came to us as a starvation case. He weighed in at 22 lbs. It has been difficult to put weight on him but he has gained enough weight that we can consider him for adoption. Now at 32 lbs he still needs to gain a few but gets an upset tummy easily and will require an owner with a lot of patience. He is still learning manners and has been difficult to housebreak. He is skittish of car rides but we have been gradually increasing the distance of those for him. He is a recreational barker, and in that, he is more like a Sheltie than a Border Collie.
Tucker is playful and interacts well with other dogs and loves to wrestle with his bigger sister, Stella (she is twice the size of Tucker). He is a big-time barker with cats. He has a tricolored semi rough coat that is more like a sheltie than a BC. I think he is probably a sheltie mix but could easily be a purebred sheltie. He has the speed and athleticism to be a fly ball or agility dog but would require extensive training to be able to tolerate a sporting dog environment.
Tucker is crate trained, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in Tucker, please complete an adoption application. He is being fostered in the Houston area.
