Stella is a beautiful red and white Border Collie mixed with sighthound or possible saluki thus making her slightly taller than most Border Collies. The sighthound breeds are known for their speed and endurance so they enjoy running on a daily basis. The salukis are known to be extremely gentle with children, but when given the change to run they run hard. So, her new owner may have just found a new “exuberant” jogging partner.
Stella is very boisterous and certainly enjoys the opportunity to jog and play sports. She has attended an obedience course and would do well in agility training where she can put her sight and speed instincts to the test. She will jump a 6 foot fence so her new home needs to have a fence that is at least 7 feet high. Her ability to run and jump along with a strong toy drive would make for an excellent agility or sporting type dog.
Stella has been exposed to children and she was sweet natured and loving. She is good with submissive dogs but she likes to be in charge so she would be a best fit as an only dog or with submissive dogs. She loves to run, wrestle, and play with rough so smaller dogs may be intimidated.
Stella is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is $330. If you are interested in Stella, please complete an adoption application. She is being fostered in the Houston area.
