Dash always eager to please and is a great part of the household. He knows to wait for food and he is good with “sit” and “twirl”. He is very friendly with the other dog in his foster home, however, does not do well with a more dominant dog. On the whole Dash is very easy going, and will not pick a fight, but he will not back down if provoked so needs an experienced handler. That being said, if he meets new dogs, he is always friendly.
Dash is ready for his forever home; he doesn’t bark/dig/chew/destroy and loves his humans! As far as socialization, he’s been at several parties/public outings and is always very excited and friendly. The biggest issue is jumping from excitement and he’s working on “sit” in these situations.
Crate Trained (sleeps in his crate at night).
Trained to “wait” until released to eat his food (will sit in front of a full bowl until told “ok”).
Has very strong herding drive, will keep an eye on humans/animals in a room.
Likes to nap quite a bit.
Unlike a typical Border Collie, he doesn’t really need to be entertained/intellectually stimulated much, however, we have a dog door to the outside and he enjoys running with other dogs along the fence.
Likes to tug, we’ve taken him to flyball events/training in the past and he’s extremely excited when at flyball. We did not end up training him to do flyball though.
Good toy share-er, will drop a toy if our other dog is around and let her run under him to snatch it away.
Likes to follow us around from room to room and always likes hanging out around us.
Dash is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in Dash, please complete an adoption application. He is being fostered in the Houston area.
